Open-Air Walking Tour of Florence by Florence private guide
This is not one of the many Guided Walking Tours of Florence! This is not one of the many Renaissance Walks! This is not one of the many Tours of the city! … This is my tailor-made guided Open-Air Walking Tour of Florence!
By the close of this private guided tour , you will have experienced the eyes and heart of the city!
(from North to South, to West and to East of the city)
Through Via Calzaiuoli and stop at the church of Orsanmichele. A "strange" church :)
We now continue towards Piazza Signoria (one of the most beautiful squares Italy's !) with its Palazzo Vecchio (the Town Hall), the Loggia dei Lanzi. Among the many statues of the square, there is one that represents the person who wanted the Uffizi!
Through the courtyard of the Uffizi Gallery, we will arrive at the Arno river.
We will leave the Pitti Palace and through a small, narrow street ( so typical in this area of the city) we will reach Santo Spirito Square, one of the most "Florentine" squares in Florence and the Church of Santo Spirito whose first project was made by Filippo Brunelleschi (the same architect who built the Dome of the Cathedral in Florence). The Santo Spirito church played a very important role in the life of Michelangelo!
Now we are about leaving the " Oltrarno" area but we will use another bridge to come back to the north bank of the Arno river: we will cross the famous Santa Trinita Bridge. This bridge was destroyed, like the other bridges of Florence (except the Old Bridge), in World War II but it was reconstructed "where it was " and " how it was", why?
Once on Via Tornabuoni, we will walk to Strozzi Palace, one of the most beautiful Renaissance palaces in Florence. The Strozzi family was one of the reaches family. We will walk through the courtyard of the palace, a typical " renaissance courtyard ".
From the courtyard of the Strozzi Palace, we will be in a few steps at Republic Square. There wasn't a square here until the second half of 1800,
what was there before being a square?
After Piazza Della Repubblica our private walk continues to Santa Croce Square (the Square of the Holy Cross ) with its famous Santa Croce Church ( church of the Holy Cross ) where we will end our walk.
This Walking Tour considers seeing the sites from outside.
The length for this private guided Open-air Walking Tour is 3,5 hours.

Do we need to buy a ticket to enter the sites?
No, you don't, the tour is outside, we won't enter the sites unless you have a special request.
Can we arrange this tour shorter than 3,5 hours?
Of course, you can, and the rate will be recalculated. All my tours are tailor-made.
Can we mix this tour with other tours?
Yes, you can. Maybe you could add a visit to the Brancacci Chapel!
I have a problem at the knees, can we have a break during the tour?
Sure we can, as many times as you like!
Can we wear heels?
Hmmm, I would suggest walking shoes :)
Is this tour too boring for kids?
I think that every tour can be boring or not it depends on how a tour guide is able to be “on” during the tour. Besides that, you know your kids better than I do :)
